Seasonal Position | Active 5–8 Hour Shifts | Weekends & Holidays Required
As a Professional Tour Guide with Lake Powell Paddleboards and Kayaks (LPP&K), you’ll be leading guests through one of the Southwest’s most iconic experiences — kayaking and hiking through Antelope Canyon. Our guides are the heart of what makes LPP&K special, blending safety, storytelling, and a love of the outdoors to create unforgettable adventures for our guests.
You’ll lead small groups (up to 11 guests) on scenic tours, share your knowledge of the area, and ensure every guest feels confident, safe, and satisfied with their experience. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires leadership, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for nature and people. Although you’ll often work independently on tour, the preparation, organization, and time management are a team effort, as the boat launch is a buzzing environment.
Guiding & Guest Experience –
Lead engaging, educational kayak and hike tours through Antelope Canyon.
Provide clear instruction, safety briefings, and interpretive information about the area’s geology, ecology, and history.
Maintain a calm, safety oriented, and confident presence while managing groups of up to 11 guests.
Stay aware and attentive to individuals’ needs within the group.
Communicate effectively with guests and team members including store staff throughout the day.
Operations & Teamwork –
Drive company vehicles and trailers to and from launch sites.
Load and unload kayaks, paddleboards, and other equipment (up to 50 lbs)
Keep all gear clean, functional, and organized.
Assist teammates with gear setup, breakdown, rentals, and storefront operations as needed.
Stay connected with your team using your cell phone during shifts for coordination and updates.
Flexible and adaptable to changes in day to day operations due to an everchanging environment including fluctuating water levels.
First Aid & CPR certification (must have or be willing to obtain).
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (no moving violations in the past 3 years).
Able to lift 50 lbs and work active 5–8 hour shifts.
Comfortable working outdoors in a desert climate and summer heat.
Confident and comfortable on open, occasionally choppy water.

Trip Pay Structure:
Antelope Canyon Kayak & Hike (4.5 hrs):
Setup & commute (up to ~ 1.5 hrs), guiding (4.5 hrs), pack-up & return (~1.5 hrs)
$100 base pay + $7 per guest (up to 11 guests) + tips (average $20–$100)
Antelope Canyon Kayak Only (2.5 hrs):
Setup & commute (up to ~1.5 hrs), guiding (2.5 hrs), pack-up & return (~1.5 hrs).
$65 base pay + $7 per guest (up to 11 guests) + tips (average $20–$70).
Hourly Work: $16/hr for gear maintenance, rentals, and storefront duties.

As an Adventure Coordinator / Rental Associate at Lake Powell Paddleboards and Kayaks (LPPK), you’ll be at the center of everything we do—from welcoming guests in our storefront to helping them launch their on-the-water adventures. This role blends customer service, teamwork, and outdoor fun in one of the most breathtaking locations in the Southwest.
You’ll be the friendly face greeting guests when they arrive, helping them get checked in, and talking them through their gear and tour options. Your support helps people feel comfortable and excited before they head out. Whether you’re helping a first-time paddler find their footing or teaming up with your coworkers to keep the day flowing smoothly, you’ll play an important part in making sure every guest feels safe, confident, and ready for a great adventure.
Guest Experience & Front-of-House
Rental & On-the-Water Operations

LPP&K is looking for a candidate that is interested in pursuing a career in the maritime and outdoor recreation world. This position includes the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, driving and maintaining a commercial vessel on inland waters; moving into training for a USCG OUPV license. This position involves transporting kayaks from marina to marina, safely offloading them onto beaches, and assisting our kayak guides with on-site setup. The ideal candidate has prior boating experience, enjoys working outdoors, and provides friendly, professional service to every customer.
Operate a commercial pontoon-style delivery boat to transport kayaks between marinas and shoreline drop-off locations.
Safely unload kayaks onto beaches and assist guides with setting up gear for tours or rentals.
Provide basic on-shore assistance to customers, including kayak orientation, safety gear distribution, and simple paddling guidance.
Support dock and boat ramp operations, including launching and retrieving company vessels.
Maintain a professional, approachable presence with customers, guides, and team members.
Perform routine pre- and post-trip checks on the delivery vessel (fuel, battery, safety equipment, cleanliness).
Load and unload kayaks, paddles, PFDs, and related equipment efficiently and safely.
Keep accurate logs of delivery routes, vessel hours, fuel levels, and equipment condition.
Assist with occasional off-site events, beach setups.
Help ensure a smooth workflow for the guide staff by preparing equipment and staging gear.
Support general marina and shoreline operations as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Prior boating experience strongly preferred (no USCG captain’s license required).
Ability to safely operate a pontoon/barge-style vessel in varying lake and weather conditions.
Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety.
Friendly and customer-service oriented.
Comfortable working outdoors in heat, wind, and changing weather.
Physical requirements:
Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs (kayaks and gear).
Able to work on sand, uneven ground, docks, and wet surfaces.
Able to repeatedly bend, lift, tie off boats, and move equipment.
Willingness to work early mornings and maintain a consistent full-time schedule during the season.
Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

This is a seasonal full-time position (March–October) with daily on-water work in one of the most beautiful environments in the world.
