AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

We tend to trade hats quite frequently, however, below you will find descriptions of each position.

 

Position Type: Part Time/Full Time

Duration: Seasonal. March – November

Our guides are what make our operation stand out! We take pride in our tours and the experience we give our customers while exploring the world renowned Antelope Canyon. There is a maximum of 11 guests per tour guide. The essential responsibilities are to facilitate a safe, fun, and informative tour while maintaining all our gear day to day. It is important to be outgoing, enjoy educating a diverse audience, confident in a leadership role, and have a passion for nature.  As well as also having excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to entertain the clients.  Guides must demonstrate solid work ethic, possess high standards, and be patient, detail-oriented, and extremely organized. While also being able to make proper decisions quickly and work calmly in chaotic situations.
 
Qualifications, skills, and abilities:
  • Applicants must have or obtain First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs and work an active shift of 5-8hrs.  
  • Must be able to tolerate a desert climate, work outside during summer heat. 
  • A passion for being outdoors and a willingness to learn. 
  • Comfortable and confident on open, often choppy water.
  • Strong leadership abilities in a variety of situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with particular focus on guest interactions.
  • Neat presence including presentable clothing and personal grooming.
  • Drivers license and clean record with no moving violations in past 3 years.
  • Can creatively problem solve.
  • Strong desire to learn – we pride ourselves on having knowledgeable employees.
  • You will need to have your cell phone accessible – the employees contact one another this way often throughout the day, so it is important that you are always available while on shift/on-call.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Driving company vehicles and trailers.
  • Loading and unloading necessary gear.
  • Maintaining a safe welcoming environment for guests.
  • Group management for trips with a guide to guest ratio of 1:11.
  • Maintaining clean and functional gear for shared use.
  • Team player mentality, assisting others when on the water & during set up and tear down.  
  • All guides will be cross trained and required to work with gear rentals & storefront occasionally.
 Trip Pay breakdown: 
  • We run 2 different tours daily: 
    • Antelope Canyon Kayak & Hike 4.5 hours: commute & set up approximately 1.5 hours, guiding for 4.5 hours, packing up & return 1.5 hours. 
      • This trip pays $100 + $7 per guest, up to 11 guests plus tips averaging $20- $100.
  • Antelope Canyon Kayak Only 2.5 hours: commute & set up approximately 1.5 hours, guiding for 2.5 hours, packing up & return 1.5 hours. 
    • This trip pays $65 + $7 per guest, up to 11 guests. Plus tips averaging $20-$70.
  • Hourly work including gear maintenance & cleaning, rentals work, and store front: $15/hour.

About the position:

  • Our storefront is the hub of all of our activities, as an Adventure Coordinator you will be the first impression of guest experience with LPP&K. In addition to checking in all reserved activities, you will advise walk-in guests on available activities, share your knowledge of the area, and clarify how the rental or tour process works for guests. You are also the person with whom all of our other employees will check in for many things throughout your day, so being able to multitask and relay needed information will be vital to how smoothly our operation runs. You will be responsible for maintaining neatness of both your working area and the store. As well as assisting customers and your coworkers as needed throughout the day.
 

Qualifications, skills, and responsibilities:

  • Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs, load and unloading gear onto and off vehicles.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
  •  Provide excellent customer service using organizational and planning skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and always maintain emotional control and professional composure.
  • Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position such as microsoft word and excel.
  • Work effectively both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Be a self-starter and be able to make decisions quickly and calmly.
 

Pay starts at $15/hour

 
  • As our representatives at the water we expect a high level of customer service in dealing with our guests, modeling a level of professionalism that sets us apart from the other rental companies in town. We expect you to be as helpful as possible in all situations to both our guests and your coworkers. As the person who sees the customers off on their adventure, we want to make certain you are sending everyone out with confidence, so we will make sure you have all the knowledge you need to successfully guide people into their experience.

Things to Note:
 
Training is provided for all positions but preference is given to those with experience or those presenting with eagerness to join our team. Housing is not provided, but we do our best to assist in finding housing.
