Do I have to pay to get into Lake Powell?

Is there a parking fee to go kayaking into Antelope Canyon? On Lake Powell?

Lake Powell is located in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, meaning you need to have a National Park Pass or you will need to pay a fee to enter

A National Park Pass, officially known as the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, is an annual pass that provides access to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites across the United States. These sites include national parks, national forests, wildlife refuges, and other federal lands managed by agencies such as the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Bureau of Reclamation.

There are several types of passes available:

  1. Glen Canyon Weekly Pass: $30 (subject to change)

This pass provides unlimited entry to Lake Powell for 1 week and is available at any Glen Canyon entrance booth including the booth that you will cross for an Antelope Canyon or Wahweap Bay tour/rental. This pass covers entrance fees for the pass holder and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle.

     2. Annual Pass: $80 (subject to change)

This pass costs a set fee and is valid for one year from the month of purchase. It covers entrance fees for the pass holder and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle. We recommend this pass if you are doing 3 or more National Parks or Monuments (including our location) on your vacation such as

      • Grand Canyon
      • Bryce Canyon
      • Zion National Park
      • Arches National Park
      • Canyonlands National Park
      • Yosemite National Park

    3. Senior Pass (Lifetime): U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 and older, this pass provides lifetime access to the same federal lands as the Annual Pass. It also offers a discount on some amenities such as camping fees.

    4. Access Pass (Lifetime):

This pass is free and available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. It provides lifetime access to the same federal lands and also offers discounts on some amenities.

    5. Military Pass (Annual):

Free annual pass for current U.S. military members and their dependents. It provides access to the same federal lands as the Annual Pass.

    6. Every Kid Outdoors Pass:

Free pass available to U.S. fourth-grade students (or home-schooled equivalent age 10) and their families. It provides free access to federal lands for the student and up to three accompanying adults.

These passes are a great way to explore the natural beauty and cultural heritage preserved in America’s national parks and federal lands while supporting conservation efforts.
